When I host events or am on the road speaking on stages, I often get the question, “Hey David, what did you do to get here?” In this episode I dive into my story and what it took to get to where I am today.
When I started to study in 1993, there was no internet. I scoured my local library and bookstore looking for materials that would help me answer the questions I had in my head. It’s important to note, this was not an overnight situation. This was the beginning of seven years of constant growth, reading and listening to anything I could get my hands on, all while holding a full-time job.
I was studying not to become a coach or a consultant. I was doing it to learning about myself. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do at the time, but I knew that my desire would lead me to where I wanted to be.
All I had in the beginning was desire. The desire to become successful, desire to leave a legacy. What I did have, like so many of you, was impatience.
When you do the work, the process speeds up. This momentum opens you up to the opportunities around you. I had to be all in, and nothing less would be sufficient.
We’re all going to arrive at our future at some point. What you do today, and tomorrow, and the next day, will determine who you meet when you get there. If you’re willing to do what it takes to make it happen, you’ll meet a very different person when that time comes. And you can start today … all it takes is a decision.
In this episode you’ll learn:
- How constant study and a recurring message led to the shift that changed my life
- How the Law of Attraction can work for you if you ‘work’ it
- Impatience is your enemy and what you can learn from your future self
