Perception and Will

The way we perceive our experiences in life is very much based on the internal, subconscious meanings that we’ve assigned to everything. If you want a different experience in life, you must change the meaning you’re giving to things.

 

In this episode you’ll learn:

 

  • Willpower is your ability to focus—it’s one of our intellectual faculties, along with perception

     

  • Our experience is the equivalent of whatever we perceive it to be

     

  • There are 2 kinds of people—those who take responsibility for everything in their life, determine what everything means, and create what they want; and those who have a victim mentality and lack the awareness that they can choose to create their own meanings

     

  • Why you should take ownership of your experiences—and be grateful for them and accept responsibility for them (and don’t blame)

     

  • We become the environment that we’re in, that we’re exposed to on a regular basis; you have to change your environment in order to support the growth of where you want to go

     

  • Why the structure of your environment must be supportive if you want to grow much faster


If you start to focus on the good in your life, it will open up doors; it will open up a new path for your life. If you change your perception of your experience, this allows you to not be stuck and actually begin to move forward.

 

To “open up the door” to a different experience, ask yourself: Is this really true? Does it really have to be this way? Isn’t there a way I can take control over my life and create something very different for myself?

Your perception controls your reality, and your reality is your experience. Change your perception and you’ll change your experience.
