Episode 040: Why We Don’t Do Normal

I want to begin today with a question, what do you consider normal in this life?

In all my years I’ve come to find that the answer to that question revolves around the idea of more life, which permeates the Universe. In short, it’s the study and understanding of the Law of Perpetual Transmutation.

If you have spent any time in nature, you see that it just does what it’s supposed to do. Completely devoid of the crazy that humans deal with on a daily basis.

So why do people struggle when nature does not? It comes from a loss of identity, and its been with you from the beginning of your life.

What causes us to lose our identity are separation, shame, and fear.

  1. Separation – the idea of us as infants being unable to take care of ourselves
  2. Shame – the idea that there is something wrong with us
  3. Fear – That unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is likely to cause pain.

So, how do you want to live your life?

You can start by finding out how that loss of identity is controlling your life.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How a loss of identity has been controlling your thinking since birth
  • What role separation, shame, and fear keep you stuck
  • That you make decisions based on security and how that needs to shift now

  1. David, This podcast really resonated, (as I take steps toward coaching “Boomers” about transitions to whatever they may have wanted to do before retirement, but haven’t.) To some of us, the idea of peeking behind the facades/”stories” most of us put out there seems a natural place to start understanding people, and hopefully, to helping them. But I do need reminding that we all carry issues around separation, shame & fear.

    1. You sure do Tricia, and those issues for the “Boomers” run deep. Decades of programming are in place, but you’re never too old to make a change. You are a perfect example of that. They call it baggage because you carry it around with you everywhere. Lighten the load, drop the shame and fear, and move forward in faith. You’ve got all the tools to make that happen. Appreciate the listen.

  2. Thank you for these podcasts. I listen regularly and find them both compassionate and very insightful. I am working on FINALLY stepping out into creating my own, online business and I know the reason it has taken/is taking so long is due to fear and other obstacles in my own head rather than anything concretely ‘out there’.

    1. Thank you Andrea. Glad to hear you are enjoying TSM. I’m having a lot of fun with them. Congrats on getting yourself out there and following your passion. Let us know how we can support you on this journey.
