Episode 036: Breaking Free From The Need To Be Right

In all the years I’ve worked with people, the need to be right has been the most common subconscious block that stunts a person’s growth.

We all came into this world with three human needs: Love, Security, and Self Esteem.

If you happened to be raised in an environment where your security was threatened, you learned very early on to adapt and control what was going on around you.

Instead of the learning from what you were doing right, oftentimes our parents and caregivers focused on what you were doing wrong. In that moment, you made a connection that holding onto an idea where you were right gave you some sense of security. You found something that made you feel good so you latched onto it.

Right there, that was when it happened. Your need to be right was was born out of a need for survival.

Ask yourself, and be honest. Are you a person who needs to be right? If so, how does it control your thinking?

If you can’t allow yourself to let go of this need to be right, you won’t be able to move ahead. When you choose to let go, everything changes.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • Where the need to be right comes from
  • What environment and security has to do with maintaining a strong need to be right
  • How dropping your need to be right changes everything

Wow, I am moving out of my apartment and staying at my sister’s for a couple of weeks to have the money to attend your event in December. You are sooo amazingly generous with your teachings, that I am going to rise up to your level and meet you where you are. I am certain I will only gain.

    1. That’s awesome Rebecca; shows your willingness to not let anything stop your progress. I’ll see you in Charlotte!
