There is nothing inherently wrong with the middle class or working class mindset. But if you’re looking for more and embarking on an entrepreneurial journey you’re going to run into some major value conflicts if you were raised in the middle class.
You see, having grown up in the middle class myself, from a very young age we’re taught to conform. This doesn’t allow us to really explore our individual talents and step into our potential. In fact, we’re actually taught that either it’s wrong for us to be different and unique or that what we desire for ourselves is impossible.
Then you add in the need to be secure in all things – job, relationship, community, friend group – and becoming an entrepreneur looks like the most dangerous thing you could ever do. An entrepreneurial value system is almost the exact opposite of the middle class, so if you don’t change your thinking which then allows you to adopt new habits and internalize this new set of values, your need for security will rob your dream, no doubt about it!
In this episode you’ll learn:
- How mediocrity and middle-class mindset affects our lives and business
- How your thinking needs to change to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset
- Where this need for security comes from
- What will help you change your mindset and stop self-sabotage
